Correct. There’s a Coast Guard Air Station close to where my dad lives. They swapped the HH-3 Pelican (165 mph, 677 nm range, 28 passenger capacity) for the HH-65 Dolphin (207 mph, 355 nm range, 12 passenger capacity). Seems you can search farther/longer and rescue more folks with old helo, but maybe maintenance costs became prohibitive.
