President Donald Trump could decide to shut down parts of the government in the coming days as he pushes for money to build his proposed border wall.

Adequate funding or shut it down.
This is what he promised us the last time he signed a crap spending bill, and I want him to stick to his promise.
I doubt this is going to happen, he is not going to do it before the midterms. Also, they are still trying to get Kavanaugh to a vote this weekend.
As if there hasn’t already been enough mental whiplash this week!
May? He absolutely SHOULD. Do it now. No more excuses and delays.
I would venture a guess that should Trump shut down sections of the government, no one would even notice several departments would be “closed for business”. IF he does, that would be an excellent time to consider disbanding many of the non-essential departments and people thus saving millions of tax dollars which could be used to finance the wall.
DO IT DONALD!
As Levin has so often pointed out, the government is always “shut down” over the weekend.
That’d be great but this is “boy who cried wolf” stuff. Stop talking about it and do it.
Yes, a clear promise that needs to be kept. This wasn’t a campaign promise, which should also be kept—like cutting off countries that don’t take back deportees, such as India.
Funny, the headlines when it’s Obama “Congress may shut down government”
Headline when Trump is president “Trump may shut down government”
From cnbc, I don’t believe it at all.
I hope he does. This Congress is making him look weak because he cannot fulfill his campaign promises. everyone here knows it’s not his fault and he is doing all he can, but the average voter has no clue. Besides, he needs to get this done!
Plus excellent timing. The Press won’t know what to cover now. :-) this could take the heat off of the confirmation.
Doing this doesn’t preclude the vote. In fact it might detract from some of the nasty press from it.
The border wall wasn’t a campaign promise? Methinks it was.
Trump won’t do that.
Forget “build the wall” and “lock her up”.
Getting the wall going to the finish line is far more important than a few days of employe salaries. GET THE WALL DONE ASAP!
Oh, yes it was. I’m just recalling Trump’s mea culpa last year to never sign a budget again that didn’t include funding. I’ve never trusted these ‘Never Again’ statements from anyone. President Trump needs to step up and prove this was more than just a lame excuse for signing last year’s budget. Keep this promise, keep all promises.
And nobody will even notice. LOL
