I hope all the people that trashed the place on Yelp before do the right thing and delete their 1 star ratings/apologize.
The animals should be arrested whenever this happens and they and that pig harlot Maxine Waters charged with assault, disturbing the peace, and incitement to riot.
Will not type what I am thinking.
It sounds like Fiola's staff behaved reasonably, but you have to wonder how the fascists were alerted to Ted's presence.
They need to look at their people. Someone tipped antifa.
Fellow diners need to stand up and force these ass hat OUT of their damned eating experience.
I’m just glad I wasn’t there. I would have stood up to teh demonstrators and made a scene.
Hope they didn’t finish the food that was already on the table. It could have been spit on. A fancy place like that hopefully would have given them new plates so the food was hot and not bill them.
Of course, if an employee instigated it, I wouldn’t eat there at all.
Fascists not welcome!
After what I witnessed in the video of Senator Cruz and his wife being horribly harassed last night... Smash Racism DC *are* the Fascists!
So far the Smash Racism people have gone after Ted Cruz & Candace Owens? Hmmm....

If true, Fiola’s did right.
I’ve been waiting for someone to respond to these fascist mob scene’s in a reasonable manner. I’ve thought to myself what would I have done in that situation. Threaten? Flee? Argue? Call Authorities? In my mind none of the above ever resulted in a positive outcome for me and my friends or family. Never once did I consider anything but the worst outcome for the fascist mob of most likely federal employees.
So I read this story and the restaurant management immediately reacted by taking their guest into a private space. Hustling the fascist mob out into the street. Calling the authorities and then return the guest to finish their meal in peace.
I can’t think of a better action or outcome for all involved. If this narrative is accurate then I applaud this restaurateur and his management for providing a safe and quiet environment for their customers. That needs to be their priority. Should be a model for every establishment that wishes to serve the public.
Article says the chef believes politics, like elbows should be left off the table. I like that
If protesters were on the restaurant’s property, were they asked to leave? If so, did they? And if they didn’t, were the cops called and charges pressed?
If the conditions apply and the answers to the last two are no, then that IS on the restaurant.
I am really hating articles that post the same f’n text three times. Once as a twitter feed, once as a transcript of the twitter feed, and sometimes a third time as a photo taken of the twitter feed. What’s the point?
Yahoo is the worst, though. To them any tweet is breaking news, and an article can be 100% twitter posts, with responses to the original tweet, and each response has the original tweet over and over and over. Jeeze.
It is so frustrating that many articles are not researched for more than five minutes. But people want instant news, which leads to incomplete/incorrect news.
Sorry not buying into the rewrite. In the video Cruz and his wife are not escorted to a “private place” they are hustled out the door into the street. It was also mentioned that the thugs were already in the restaurant sitting quietly at the bar waiting for Cruz to show up. It was a planned attack. So who tipped them off? This whole thing stinks to high Heaven.
