My take is that Farrow likely thought he needed to do this to get back into the liberal good graces after taking down Harvey Weinstein, the first domino that led to the falling of Charlie Rose, Matt Lauer, Mark Halperin, Kevin Spacey, and Eric Schneiderman.
Taking down Kavanaugh would be his ticket back, or so he thought.
