This would be a huge “favor” to President Trump from a guy who hates him.

~~~
I thought about this the other night, for some reason, when the coverage of his “jokes” started to wax. What if Rosenstein resigned? This is a double edged sword politically, and not necessarily the favor it looks like on first blush. Yes, it seems to disarm the sharpest criticism of Trump, that he’d be interfering or obstructing. So in that way it’s good. It mutes the laserlike focus of the media to some degree, but there is no way they wont still blame him. You know they will. Rosenstein still gets to claim he was forced out, and he now looks more sympathetic overall. It’s not that being fired doesn’t instantly invoke a mass chorus of sympathy from the media and the left, but now he gets to be portrayed as the noble martyr.
True enough, but martyrism is short-lived to the Left which is furious at the Democrat/Leftist Party leadership because Donald Trump is still President Trump. I think the benefits outweigh the downside for the President on this one. Cheers!
