Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has verbally resigned to Chief of Staff John Kelly in anticipation of being fired by President Trump, according to a source with direct knowledge.
Per a second source with direct knowledge: Hes expecting to be fired, so plans to step down. Background: Rosenstein talked last year invoking the 25th Amendment and wearing a wire during Trump meetings, the N.Y. Times' Adam Goldman and Michael S. Schmidt reported last week. He denied both allegations.
LOL............. I'm old ..... I don't know who bet what, but I bet we both hate Rosenweasel no matter what.
Why can’t the president put in the man he wants? ... not one “in line of succession”?
Maybe Rod Rosenstein is exactly where POTUS wants him? Maybe it’s RR’s lot in life to have his clearance stripped while he awaits the eventuality of leaving his last day of works in cuffs at 10AM in front of everybody bound for Gitmo?
I expect his resignation will not be accepted. Blows up the red line narrative, which is what he’s trying to trigger.
Rosenstein just recovered a memory that Kavanaugh might have touched him when they were in side by side bassinets in the hospital where they were born.
He’s heading to Di ChiSpy to have his evidence recorded.
“No way they take his federal pension. The only way you lose your pension is to be convicted of treason. Tough to do.”
I think they’ve got the evidence, and they didn’t just add on to Gitmo and activate a bunch of troops to man that place for nothing.
Doubt he’d resign. The swamp creatures hang on until the very last second.
Requires Senate confirmation and you see how that is working.
In any case, Rosenstein resigning likely saves himself being raked over the coals publicly for those actions.”””
I would NOT count on that.
Treason is very difficult to prove. There are more important things at stake than Rosenstein’s federal pension.
As said...Axios likes to create stories that are nothing burgers...along with the drama.
Facts:
No resignation...No Firing...but lets see once Sessions is back.
Best Post of the morning !!!
No firing and no resignation...Fox reporting.
However if Axios wanted to test how quickly or even if they could change the news cycle...they certainly did do that as everything about the Judge ceased.
suspended without pay?
Another false alarm? The MSM is chasing its tail again. The echo chamber is alive and well. It shows me that they really don’t want Rosenstein fired.
No...Rosenstein was at a scheduled meeting is all.
Axios got it all wrong.....not surprisingly.
Who knows what they really want....honestly things can change in a heartbeat because we are only spectators. But yes the media jumped high on this one and they all followed.
There is a question though if this equation might yet change again once Session is back in WAshington.
I’m betting they have what they need.
