Re: Mueller interviewing for FBI position - I heard it said that he was not interviewing for FBI Directorship because there is a law that says you cannot be Director but one time. The law was created b/o J. Edgar Hoover. I’ve also heard it said that Mueller and Trump spent hours talking that day.
This info came from Dr Dave Janda on YouTube.

I heard it said that he was not interviewing for FBI Directorship because there is a law that says you cannot be Director but one time.

Per Wiki: In May 2011, President Barack Obama asked Mueller to continue at the helm of the FBI for two additional years beyond his normal 10-year term, which would have expired on September 4, 2011. The Senate approved this request 100-0 on July 27, 2011. On September 4, 2013, Mueller was replaced by James Comey.

He may have been FBI head one time but they had to vote to extend his leadership. So it appears exceptions can be made to the rules in emergency situation.

Footnote. I love how many times McCarthy calls Rosenstein a weasel.
