This really sucks. I read through most of the New Yorker article, and I’m afraid he’s got a real problem here. Not because I necessarily believe the woman - she is probably lying. But here are the problems, and why Hirono and that other idiot Senator with the blonde hair will now have a field day:
1- a penis was out of pants
2- she has some (weak) corroboration
Ford’s story has been pretty much decimated. This, unfortunately, probably has legs. Why? Because social media will keep this trending - and they intend to sway the hearts and minds of women who will put pressure on Murkowski, Flake, and Collins.
You may think she and her story are bought and paid for - but I’m afraid this may actually end his chances of being on the Supreme Court. Lest you think that’s something I want, check my recent posts - I think Ford is clearly lying, and wish they would have scheduled the vote for Monday.
My husband (lawyer) thinks this is what they wanted the delay for. They never intended to use Ford’s pathetic story to tank him - they wanted this to come out, and needed more time.
Very disheartened.
