Hanover, New Hampshire. I visited the school this summer with my son and walked by a dorm that had Trump's photo in just about every window on an entire floor.
It's still predominantly leftist, but for some reason, there is a fairly large conservative student population at this school.

This sort of line is exactly how conservatives shoot themselves in the foot. Mattis is doing a lot of good in recreating a DOD focused on defending the US without starting another $4itshow like we are seeing with Kavanaugh.

Post-Vietnam we decided to have a much smaller, all volunteer military. One of the more interesting things to observe is how that has led the US military to adopt more or less the doctrines of the Prussian and German General Staff: if you have a small army, you cannot win wars of attrition-- you have to force the enemy to concentrate his forces and then defeat them overwhelmingly in a short period of time. You don't have any choice about that.
Unlike the German military, however, our own tradition of concentrating on logistics and air-power enables us to establish forces with sufficient depth of materiel and resources almost anywhere in the world.

Exactly. One reason the numbers will drop under Mattis is readiness and cost. Obama’s people encouraged the surgeries and drug therapy routines which meant these people were sidelined quite a bit. Fact is when a democrat is back in power it will return to the way it was under Obama...most likely.

Who’s great hero? What mess has he cleaned up? He has not lifted a finger to clean up a single left wing social experiment that is rotting the military from within. He is just another Obama General who owes his allegiance to Obama. Do you recall how he tried to countermand Trump’ order to get rid of cross dressers in the military? That is still dragging on. He is a disaster at Defense who has not improved a single thing.
