Charles Grassley has been shepherding the nomination through the DemonRat mine fields reasonably well, allowing the screamers to punctuate the open hearings and alienating the public to the DemonRat antics.
It may be crystal clear to you and your circle of friends who follow the news closely, but most Americans are not according to Scott Rasmussen:
https://townhall.com/columnists/scottrasmussen/2018/09/20/allegations-against-brett-kavanaugh-fail-to-move-public-opinion-n2520666
"...Perhaps the biggest surprise in the data is that just 27 percent are following this story "Very Closely." That's the same modest level of interest there was before the allegations were made. It may be that most voters are just tuning out the entire dispute as little more than political gamesmanship from official Washington...."
According to the article by Scott Rasmussen, approval for Kavanaugh has moved only 3 percent from 52 to 49 percent, within the margin of error.
You may be right that everyone has made up their minds before the hearings. But there are a whole lot of (left leaning) polls out there in the last day or two saying the tide has turned decidedly against his nomination. While I doubt their veracity the news blasted out to independents who actually listen to the MSM may sway them in the midterms. That's just my opinion. You have every right to decide for yourself, but these experienced Washington Pols are in charge and they wouldn't do it if they thought it was a waste of their time. IMO.
Okay, point well taken.
