I live in Springfield and have lived in MO all my life except 3 yrs in Iowa.
The southern half of MO is fairly red GOP, with several recreational lakes and the Ozarks Mtns (small). I paid abt $2200 property tax 2017 for a 4 BR, walkout basement, not a huge lot.
I know Long Island has drug problems, we do too here. Meth, increasing heroin probs, etc. Rural and urban both.

Wow that’s nothing $2200 I would dream to pay that. Yes besides the huge heroin problems we also got the MS-13 problem where to date they’ve mass killed 30 people. It’s really bad here not to mention the traffic is horrendous. If drive to work after 6am you might as well walk, you’ll get there faster. Well thanks for the info, that is really cheap property taxes, literally 10% of what Im paying
