Since this is a hearing and not a criminal trial, she can probably get away with not having Kavanaugh in the room (but she shouldn’t), but there is no way that he should go first. If they choose that as their excuse to not participate, I won’t be surprised.
Someone needs to remind the liberals that the #MeToo movement has to do with a person of influence sexually harassing someone he or she can either fire or blackball. This is not the case with CBF. In fact, her resume is probably enhanced now with book deals and universities clamoring for her story. Maybe even a Law and Order: SVU treatment of it.
The accuser always goes first, whether in a criminal or a civil proceeding. How else can the accused defend himself against whats actually being alleged?
An accused person is allowed to face their accuser. It is preposterous that this woman should be allowed an environment “where she feels comfortable”, including not having the man she is accusing of a serious act present to face her. If she feels that a fleeting act which may or may NOT have occurred 36 years ago is important enough to bring it to national attention as she has done, she then has the responsibility to say it to his face. Don’t back down on this, Mr. Grassley.
Abortion lobby will move onto weed after this nonsense is shot down.
