cpdiii is instructing sail plane flights again.
Good on him
I am retired and needed purpose again and sure as hell do not want to work and do not need to. Teaching kids how to fly (anyone under 30 is a kid to me) is great fun. I am actually pretty good at it as I have made just about every mistake they will, 42 years now since I went solo.
Our gliding club has the luxury of retired Air Force pilots and commercial pilots as instructors. They are first class pilots and instructors. We also have a member of the club that is an FAA designee and he keeps us all up to standards. I lean on them for advice about air regs and standards as I am a bit dated. Relative to instruction and flying I am very competent.
I am 70 years old and will continue to do this as long as I am competent to do so. I love it.
