Cody Wilson, the owner of a company that makes untraceable 3D-printed guns who is wanted on an arrest warrant accusing him of sex with an underage girl, has left the U.S. and was last known to be in Taiwan, investigators in Texas said Wednesday.
Austin Police Cmdr. Troy Officer told reporters that the department was working with national and international law enforcement to locate Wilson, whom Officer said missed a scheduled return flight to the U.S.
Officer said it was unclear why Wilson went to Taiwan, but he added that a friend of the 16-year-old alleged victim told Wilson that he was under investigation before he left. The commander also said Wilson's name had been entered into a national law enforcement computer listing him as wanted for sexual assault of a child.
Investigators said Wilson met the girl for sex at an Austin hotel on Aug. 15 and paid her $500 afterward. A counselor for the teenager reported the accusation to Austin police a week later, saying Wilson met the girl online.

That's easy. He (allegedly) went on his own because he likes young, barely-legal girls. They either knew from a PI following him and then questioning a previous girl on her way out, from hacking his computer, or from getting access to his ISP's information.
Anyone who wants to take someone down can get the information, if that person steps outside the lines. It just takes money. He's not high profile enough for unsubstantiated allegations from high school to hurt him, but the problem for him is if he really did what is claimed (whether or not he would have done it if he had realized she was underage).

It’s not all that complicated.
The coffee shop where he picked her up is his car was on video at the time she said they were there.
The hotel’s video has the to of them in the hotel and exiting the elevator where Wilson had registered for a room.
The text messages and pictures of his package were on her phone and were sent from his phone.

Seriously, you're right. You have much insight into the female mind.
This whole thing could be a giant setup, but assuming that it is not: It is always amazing to me how we men can be so smart in some areas, but can let our quest for sex with attractive females get us into so much trouble.
There are a few common sense lessons here:
1. If you manage to get yourself into a high profile position where millions of people want to take you down... be very careful.
2. No matter who you are... don’t send pictures of your willy using a cell phone or computer, especially to people you do not know and especially if they are representing themselves as a young woman. Does anyone other than a homosexual freak show really want to see this type of photo??? But even well connected Democrats like Anthony Weiner have been taken down for trying to impress young women with this type of stupid stunt. Could there be anything more stupid?
3. If you are determined to be an ass, then don’t associate yourself with conservative causes. Go hang out with Hillary Clinton and Anthony Weiner... they like people who are asses. That is why the donkey is their symbol.

It’s a man’s or woman’s responsibility to determine that his or her sex partner is legally able to consent.

Paraphrasing the question I was answering: “if they targeted him in advance, before he met up with this particular underage girl, and she was there to lure him into this crime, how did they know how to set him up?” From that perspective, my response makes sense.
From the perspective of proving he was in that hotel with this particular apparently underage prostitute, you have the facts correct.
Either way, it was a shockingly stupid thing to do. Any exceptionally slow learner who didn’t already know that prostitutes will screw their customers even after they leave should have figured it out from “Stormy” being front page news for a year. Anyone who likes the sense of danger (or whatever the appeal is) from spending private time with a girl who claims to be just barely legal should get over it, grow up, and spend that time with real adults.

Agreed. Most women do not want to see junk photos. Men get turned on by body parts. It doesn’t do it for us.
Even a “teen prostitute” doesn’t have the ability to consent. You don’t know much at that age and you don’t understand what is going on. Such a young teen prostituting has not been taught to live by any moral code and is making up her own or following some bad stuff she has been taught. Teen prostitution should be stopped and the kids should not be thrown into juvie; this is where there may still be time to rehab someone. But that needs to be done right. It is always adults’ fault when the kids are caught having sex with adults. Yeah, the dude should check ID on anyone appearing underaged. It doesn’t take that long to check a license.
Indeed. The higher up you go in society, the worse it is for you to engage in seedy intercourses. Of all kinds. The fall is much farther and it is gonna hurt. Ask Roseanne. And no one except some gay men want to see dicpics. At best a girl wants to see “if you dare send it” because at that point she’s got something on you (especially if she’s sent you hers).
