I had 2 huskys harassing my Arabian horses this spring. I shot AROUND them to scare them off, but they would come back. One day, they had my stallion pinned up against his hot wire fence & they were cross-circling each other trying to get to him. More shots, but turned out to be warning shots because I waa so damned mad.

Finally found out what property they came from. Went to Animal control & they got removed & re-homed 25 miles away. Fine by me. I was ready to switch from .22 rifle to shotgun.

I think rehoming is a good first choice solution if that is possible. I think in this case it would be because of the Huskie’s age and the current owner’s lack of control. Had the dog been shot in the act of killing the chickens and other animals I’d be o.k. with that. But after the fact when there are other solutions not so much.
