Ranchers and other land owners are not allowed to do anything about illegals crossing their land. They have been jailed and sued for even trying to enforce trespassing laws against them.
Fact, if a citizen trespasses on private property that is properly posted here in NM the State Police or sheriff’s deputy will come arrest that person and they will be charged with trespassing and pay a fine- $300 years ago I don’t know how much now. If an illegal or anyone that looks like they might be an illegal is trespassing on private property local law enforcement will tell you to call Border Patrol, illegals will not be charged with trespassing and will not be fined.
So what exactly do you think ranchers should be doing about it?
Well, he has done something about it.
He’s recorded them and gone public with it.
And honestly, I know that he doesn’t stand a snowball’s chance against that kind of armed.
If he had turned a blind eye and not alerted authorities, then I would say he was culpable. But he didn’t. He did what he could.
