Lesbians have a high rate of polycystic ovary syndrome, with high testosterone levels and an increase of diabetes and obesity, so one might see dementia from these problems.
There also has been some discussions if certain viruses or bacteria can cause dementia, and some might be spread via sex etc.
Finally, the high rate of drug use in some gay populations.
I would have to read the article to see what they are looking for.
Or, they are basically studying why some gay men are still actually alive in their golden years and haven’t contracted HIV/AIDS. (Could it be those are the wee minority of the monogamous ones?)
The average gay man lifespan used to be cut short by an average of 20 years. Now with pharmaceuticals, it has been reported to be only 7 years shorter.
Since studying and reporting such realities is not PC, the later claim is not necessarily verifiable.
