It’s more the EU propaganda than the IRA propaganda.

The EU Commission appears to be pushing back on anti-Israel legislation here, but what it’s saying instead is that the Irish government doesn’t have the power over its own trade policy anymore rather than disagreeing with the position of “independent” leftists like Frances Black.

It doesn’t, because it gave that power up to the EU. You can’t be in the common market and still set your own trade policy.

The Irish are well aware of this and during Brexit negotiations they gloated about using their EU single market membership as leverage against the UK. According to this story, some of them are trying to have it both ways.
