It's not completely the degree (although if you hired a CPA, would you want him/her to have a degree?) - it's really that she is committed fraud and is a liar.
It doesn't necessarily invite confidence.
A CPA? Of course not. If the person can operate the accounting software efficiently and has some a history of experience, I see no problem.
Btw, anyone can be a fraud and liar. Have a college paper is no guarantee against that. And some become opportunist years after being hired. That’s always a roll of the dice.

I would want them to have passed the exam and the background check. And I would want to talk to them...so that I may discern how smart they are.
