Most welcome, FRiend.
I’m not understanding this article - the target date for the vote out of committee had always been 9/20/2018 after the completion of the hearings. The Democrats can delay a vote for a week so that was already factored into the schedule. This article is written as though the vote was previously expected to occur today and got delayed. Technically yes, but that was part of the schedule of events - who believed the Democrats would not do this?
In any event, there was no “caving” here.
September 20th was always the planned date for the vote - the Democrats using the rule to delay it by one week was already factored into the schedule.
For shame, Lazamataz use facts not your personal foregone conclusions... citing NPR no less! LOL
FACT: Grassley LAST Thursday placed Kavanaughs nomination on the committees agenda for SEPT. 13.
Grassleys notice on Monday formally sets in motion the Republican plan of getting Kavanaugh confirmed to the Supreme Court by October, when the justices will start their next term.
Kavanaughs nomination could get a vote as soon as this week. But Democrats are expected to DELAY re-setting the vote until next week, meaning Kavanaughs nomination will likely be taken up by the committee on SEPT. 20.”
BTW, I had sent correction per private freeper mail to not cause your embarrassment. So, I felt no need to PING you.
Under committee rules, any one senator can delay a nomination by a week when it’s on the agenda for the first time, as Kavanaugh’s nomination will be on Thursday. Nominations are routinely held over for a week.
Grassley had previously indicated last Thursday that he would place Kavanaugh’s nomination on the committee’s agenda for Sept. 13.

UPDATE
Grassley’s office on Monday sent out an agenda for a business meeting the committee will have on Thursday. Kavanaugh’s nomination is included as one of roughly two dozen judicial nominations that could get a vote.

Republicans hold the majority on the Judiciary Committee, so Kavanaugh is expected to easily clear the panel despite last week’s heated four-day hearing.
Kavanaugh will then need a simple majority to get confirmed by the full Senate.
Unfortunately, indications are that he’s a perv.
That is, he copped a feel in high school.
Oh, nooooooo!
MY personal conclusions. MY personal conclusions. LOL!
This was posted well before the silly Feinswine move. And note that while the citation is MSN, the actual article is from Washington Examiner -- a somewhat more reliable source.
FACT: Grassley LAST Thursday placed Kavanaughs nomination on the committees agenda for SEPT. 13.
FACT: There is a committee rule that allowed the Democrats to place the vote on hold for an additional week, and nearly every person on Capital Hill expected them to invoke it.
And as to your citation: Kavanaughs nomination could get a vote as soon as this week. But Democrats are expected to DELAY re-setting the vote until next week, meaning Kavanaughs nomination will likely be taken up by the committee on SEPT. 20..... you selectively edited the rest of the text ON THE VERY ARTICLE YOU USED TO MAKE AN ERRONEOUS POINT!
"The move means Kavanaugh's nomination could get a vote as soon as this week. So, I can only conclude that either A) You are willfully misinforming people, or B) You are ignorant, and smug about it.
Again, your conclusions are sadly flawed
Reiteration:
Grassley’s office on Monday [Sept 10]sent out an agenda for a business meeting the committee will have on Thursday [Sept 14.] Kavanaugh’s nomination is included as one of roughly two dozen judicial nominations that could get a vote.
The move means Kavanaugh’s nomination COULD get a vote as soon as this week [Sept 14]

To further clarify...
Under committee rules, any one senator can delay a nomination by a week when its on the agenda for the first time, as Kavanaughs nomination will be on Thursday. Nominations are routinely held over for a week from [Sept 13] which is Thuresday Sept 20th.
Wow.
You have severe reading-comprehension issues.
You actually POST my point, verbatim, then deny that fact that you post.
Sorry about your dementia. Let me know if I can help.

My quote is from the article.
I will not degrade myself by insulting you. I re-sent ANOTHER email to help you understand.
Best wishes
Very interesting that the “women’s health activists” are threatening to harm and rape Susan Collins’ office staff.
The evil and depravity of pro-abortionists knows no bounds.
