That’s my impression. Note again that the letter to Eshoo was written by a third party, someone “affiliated” with Stanford. This is speculation, but it’s not hard to imagine that the woman referenced in the letter had mentioned an awkward, embarrassing (or worse) incident with an old high school boyfriend (Kavanaugh) — how serious an alleged incident we have no idea — in casual discussion with a friend. Perhaps this discussion occurred years ago. Perhaps it was more recent, after Kavanaugh’s nomination. But as far as we know now, it’s this third party “friend,” not the woman herself, who is making the charge. It is certainly relevant that, whatever the nature of the alleged incident, it was not something about which she chose to complain at the time.
This whole Kavanaugh thing has become as nutty as the hearings being held by the lunatic Mueller. The country’s gone insane.
