The flooding is not over. It takes a while for some streams and rivers to drain,all the while their height is increasing. No telling how bad the flooding will be in NC.
Here in the Keys we get fresh water runoff into florida bay. It’s a natural occurence.It takes 81 days for the water to run off from lake Okechobee to Fla. Bay.I’m sure its going to take a few days even in NC for all water to run off from where it landed.
It’s probably a mistake to rule the effects of Florence over for a while yet.

As the remnants of Florence loop around to the west then north over the mountains, the rain water will eventually drain back down toward the coast. Indeed, the effects from Florence aren't over for a while.
