I know people who survived the eye of Andrew. They had interesting stories to tell, like roofs blowing off, windows breaking and hiding under mattresses, but they were all uninjured.
Then there’s the people who end up in the ER because they fell off a ladder while putting up plywood.

I grew up in NY. I remember my HS science teacher explaining to us young skulls full of mush how even though it's rare odds are NY is long overdue to be hit by a major hurricane. And this was 45 yr ago. We're in Hernando Cty, by the time Irma passed through last year it was barely a cat 1, it didn't do much damage, but just because this area of FL hasn't been hit by a big one in many yrs, IT CAN HAPPEN.
