Deserts Is proofreading dead?I think this is the plural of "desert," accent on the second syllable, meaning something one deserves, as well as its companion meaning, accent on the first syllable, of an area that gets very little precipitation. "Just desserts" would be the description of a restaurant that only sold cakes and pies, I think.

People depend too much on spell checkers instead of their own eyes.

“Just Deserts” is the correct usage, as in “Justly Deserved”.

Respectfully, “desert”’ is correct. Look it up. It comes from the same root word as “deserve’”. Not like food as reward. :)

Well, Democrats are moral and mental deserts.

Deserts Is proofreading dead? In the MSM? It sure is. Deader than a flatcat.
In Free Republic?
"Going there" is strongly NOT recommended.
