That does raise a question . . . or more. Different rules for white, heterosexual men, maybe? Oregon? A reverse Sharia rule that the testimony of a man is worth only half that of a woman? Inquiring minds would like to know.
I was wondering the exact same thing. Bad reporting? Weird laws in Oregon? I dont know!

The verdict has to be unanimous in federal criminal prosecutions; verdicts with less than unanimity (such as 9 out of 12) in state prosecutions have been found not to violate the 5th or 6th Amendments as incorporated against the states.
