The supposed chem attacks by Assad just dont make sense to me.
I think it is a psychological weapon. The rebels are hunkered down in highly defensible positions. The chemical weapons can seep down into their bunkers, so an attack lets them know that nowhere is safe, and their cause is hopeless.

It is a weapon with very limited military efficacy in this context but carries hugely negative global political costs.
It makes no sense for Assad to use it. Assad studied / worked as a medical doctor in London and is quite intelligent. I don’t buy it.
