We have rooms for 6 nights in 4 different VA cities.

I gotta take a little while to accept this reality, then get in action, see about alternative plans and find out what the airline will deal on.

I was so excited to make this trip.

VA will be borderline, depending on where you plan to be — but if the storm stalls as currently expected, all of the South and East of the Commonwealth will be dealing with heavy and possibly unrelenting rain. Even if you manage to avoid mudslides, washed out roads/bridges, and floodwaters, the fact remains that it won’t be pleasant to be out and about.

If I were in Roanoke or west, I might chance it, but Piedmont and the Tidewater will be a mess. Trees will be down and power out in many places, and if you have plans to visit specific attractions, there’s a strong chance they will be closed anyway.

I am sorry for your bad luck.
