If there is a “Blue Wave” there will subsequently be a “Red Tide” from the blood when the surfers on the blue wave are eaten by the sharks.

RE: If there is a “Blue Wave” there will subsequently be a “Red Tide” from the blood when the surfers on the blue wave are eaten by the sharks.

This sounds like you believe that Nov. 2018 will be the Democrat’s year, subsequently losing in 2020.

Well, it looks like Obama’s Presidency all over again (in reverse) if you’re right.

The main difference is this, if the Blue Wave does happen, NOTHING WILL GET DONE between this year and 2020 because it will be impeachment talk all the time.

Forget the Wall, forget more de-regulations, forget tax cuts, and expect more spending because that’s what I expect if there’s a blue wave.

The fact that Obama is out on the campaign trail this early shows me they’re worried about the black vote. It can’t be for any other reason. The party lost more elected officeholders at the national and statewide levels during his presidency than even during Bubba’s two terms in office. The DNC is still counting on Obama’s “magic” with black voters! They’re in desperate straits, and the MSM, as usual, won’t report it!

So long as Obama is encouraged to hold Democrat rallies and he draws 500 people there will be no Blue Wave.

The Obama rallies show there is little enthusiasm by the Democrat voters.

On the other hand Trump regularly gets 10,000 enthusiastic supporters to attend his rallies.

It is a red tidal wave coming.

Anything else is fake news.

Just look at the primary turnout numbers.

I luvs me some witty alliteration, despite the opinion of my HS English teachers.

My statement has many different applications....

People are angry and the voter’s fuses are short. If they awaken the conservative silent majority, the crying whining of the Dem’s will be nothing.

Trump is strategic and knows that the best defense is a better offense. He will go after the Dem’s with prosecution until they cry uncle.

November 2018: Blue Wave or Red Tide?

The only place this question and thread could be informative and even amusing would be at DU.

What discussion would be actually useful to defeat the hysterical well-financed Enemies Domestic?

Vote, if you like the trajectory our nation has been on for the last 20 months, get to the polls, no matter what!

If you are well informed and persuasive, educate the lazy or the confused who don't quite get how badly things could return to if the swamp returns...

Personally I think the red tide vs blue wave thing is more of a symptom of a greater ideaological battle between liberals and conservatives.

Liberals argue from the standpoint of being in a group, where as conservatives tend to argue for self-sufficincy.

More people in this country are slowly realizing the benefits of self reliance and the problems that happen with “group politic”.

I think it’s because the left sort of became almost a paradoy of itself in the Obama years.

Worst-case scenario: I’ll take your blue wave and raise you one Reaganesque Crimson Tide in 2020. It’s probably about 50-50 for Nov 2018, to be honest. But if Pelosi does take the reins of Congress back, it won’t make one iota of difference in POTUS’ judicial picks, and obviously they won’t have the votes to impeach. And dems can’t help themselves, so there will be endless hearings about what brand of toothpaste Trump uses, and so forth, but it won’t make one bit of difference, and people will be majorly pissed by 2020.

The downside is that obviously no significant laws will be passed until the Crimson Tide of 2020, but is that necessarily a bad thing? Of course we want the tax cuts to be made permanent which they aren’t now. I personally think that the Republicans will keep the house, barely. Barely is good enough.

Excellant point. But theyre in a box. They can only send obama to deep blue pockets. The races will be lagely decided in purple enclaves in the midwest where they can not risk sending him

“More people in this country are slowly realizing the benefits of self reliance and the problems that happen with “group politic”.”

You understand the underlying philosophy of the horse & buggy Mennonite and Amish.
