I recall they wanted to close Sunspot a few years back because it was outdated. So I assume one of the big boys could see whatever Sunspot may be looking at towards the Sun.
I am assuming the issue is much more local.

I hadn’t heard that... but then I don’t pay much attention to such things.
But I was under the impression that the Sunspot Observatory had made some major discoveries in the last few years.??
