I think thats what happened. But they startled one another. He may even have been trying to leave as she pushed in and the physical contact frightened her more so she reacted mistakenly and shot him. She was in uniform, so she probably had her service revolver handy.
Your wits are sharper than most then. But drunk or sober, it has happened.
In Minnesota, a muzzy cop(?) killed a woman and all but shot his partner’s face.
Mohamed is out on bail.
His apartment had a red doormat in front of it. Her door did not. A red doormat is kind of hard to miss.
It is not my intent to defend the officer. An innocent man was killed and I think this officer will probably go to prison for it. Just relating how I think it could have happened.
That should have clued her right away, for sure.
Had he looked through the peephole, or even peeked over a chain, he would have seen an officer in uniform. Most people would have opened the door at that point.
If she isnt convicted, or receives a light sentence, this will be the event that causes widespread riots just in time for the mid-term elections. Im sure Obama coming out from under his rock to attack President Trump is part of the Alinsky plan.
She didn’t walk in. The tried her key in the lock. The poor guy inside opened to see who was there. So she thinks she’s at her door when it suddenly opens and he is there.
Confrontation happened at the door.
My guess is that when she heard “her” door unlocking from the inside, she drew her gun and then it went down. She never saw inside the apartment.
What was she doing getting sauced and carrying her weapon? That is a no-no in any police department. Guess this is what happens when police departments are under pressure to hire more women. Forget qualifications.
Also, the knuckleheads holding signs saying “End Police Brutality”. This had nothing to do with her being a cop and everything to do with her being an idiot. She was not on duty when she shot this guy. She could have been a Starbucks barista coming home blitzed and carrying a gun and shooting the guy. Sheesh.
Yes, I do think they like to investigate before they make an arrest. They weren’t going to let her go anywhere.
Was his door locked? Who leaves their door unlocked at night these days, especially in a big city?
Anyway, no cop is supposed to go drinking and carry their weapon. That is a definite no-no.
I haven’t read anything that really explains how this supposedly happened.
Nice language. I am not blaming the victim. Just observing that it always amazes me when people leave their doors unlocked, no matter where you live.
Has it occurred to you that anyone could have done the same stupid thing? The fact that she is a cop does make it worse, because if the door was unlocked (surely she noticed that), she should have called for other officers to come help her clear the apartment. I’m not excusing her at all, and officers I have spoken with agree. She is toast.
The key inserts, but doesn’t turn. You think you are at your door, but the key isn’t working. Takes a second or two for the “does not compute” circuit to switch on, but right about then, “her” door swings open and some dude is standing there.
Tragic, but lots of people have tried to put their key in a car just like theirs, or as someone else said, distracted in a cell phone, steps off the elevator on the wrong floor and goes to the second door on the right. And unless the guy came out the door aggressively (haven’t heard a hint of that) sounds like she panicked.
Sad all around.
Sorry about that post.
In should engage my brain before posting.
The lock has a flashing red light if wrong key fob is inserted.
Apology accepted. Freepers stick together, even if we fuss at each other now and then. :-)
“Lets Pray that she doesnt get away with this COLD BLOODED MURDER.”
It’s already tragic enough. But it wasn’t cold blooded murder. It was a scared person with poor training who blew it in a moment of high stress. That innocent man is dead, and that woman’s life is basically over.
Maybe you’ll feel better when she hangs herself in a few weeks.
