But the problem is that the homosexual impulse appears to be persistently predatory. It’s never satisfied, because it’s abnormal,...

I’m sorry; I can’t accept your premise. I’ve seen too many predators of the heterosexual variety. It seems equally predatory, held back only by decent, strong morally led men.

I’ve seen too many predators of the heterosexual variety.

Men gone astray are capable of being predatory about literally anything. The problem with using men and women mistreating each other as an argument for benign homosexuality is that whereas male-female attraction is essential to existence, homosexuality has no unique upside. It has most of the problems that come with male-female attraction and many more of its own.

In raw numbers, there are more heterosexual predators than homosexual ones in the US--a statistic some take as a reassuring argument for the harmlessness of (please excuse my specificity) sodomy. But consider that homosexuals are a tiny minority of any population. If you ask how many crimes of predation are committed per individual in each group, a given homosexual male is 5 to 10 times more likely than a heterosexual male to be a predator of the young.

Why would this be the case? One possibility is that the behavior is inherently compulsive. It's based on a desire for approval that damaged men and women are seeking in the wrong places and will never find there. Hence the wild rates of self-reported unhappiness, ill-health, disease, drug use, and suicide.

Normal marriage--note that I'm not talking about fornication, adultery or Harvey Weinstein games--is not only necessary for human existence, but something that works. It is unitive, fulfilling, and divinely ordained. Even measured in material terms, it is uniquely successful. Children raised by two parents (of opposite sex) married to each other are healthier physically and psychologically, are less likely to wind up in jail, have a higher household income, live longer, and are more likely to report that they are happy. Charles Murray's book, Coming Apart, has statistics and sources.

As history, drama, literature, and art remind us entertainingly, marriage can be clanky, noisy, histrionic, occasionally murderous, and is always imperfect. But it is one of the two prerequisites for human life. One is God to form us within our mothers, and the other is marriage to raise us. To ignore the first is illogical. To live without the second is at best a second-best solution.

Everyone knows this, including most of the homosexuals I know--who have their problems, but are not stupid or dishonorable. There is an irrational, vicious, despair-driven "movement" that claims them. But it does not speak for them.

You are young. Once you have the years and experience of SamuraiScot, you will begin to understand that he is right.

Yes, predatory heterosexuality is disgusting but not even on the same playing field as its homosexual equivalent.

Men like certain basketball stars who claim to have boinked as many as 20,000 women over their lifetimes are the exception. Among homosexuals, the hundreds or even the thousands of partners are the rule.

Among married heterosexuals, roughly 80% of women and 70% of men are monogamous. Among "married" homosexuals (a relationship most of them still avoid except to make a political statement or jockey for a big legal pay day), the equivalent numbers are negligible. There is also a negligible number of decent, strong morally led men among the Sodomite inclined crowd. What few there are have decided celibacy is the preferable alternative to being a practicing Sodomite.
