Former President Obama on Friday lamented the state of politics today, calling out his successor, Donald Trump, by name as he started his push to ramp up Democratic energy for midterms.
Mr. Obama made his return to the political arena by giving a speech at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign after receiving the Paul H. Douglas Award for Ethics in Government.
He praised America’s accomplishments but said there is a darker side to progress when politicians peddle resentment and mistrust to preserve the status quo.
“It did not start with Donald Trump. He is a symptom, not the cause,” Mr. Obama said. “He’s just capitalizing on resentments that politicians have been fanning for years.”

Why do most of these corrupt politicians go to Academia for their speeches? Could it be because everyone in these institutions are anti-Trump, anti-American Socialist in training?
What a farce. It's like having the corrupt collusive biased MSM moderating political debates. It's just wrong on every level and should be enough to make every American recoil in disgust!

“He’s a symptom, not the cause”. He’s actually right on that one, but not in the way he thinks. Trump’s rise to the office of president is a symptom of a country divided ... by Obama and the Democrats ... beginning in 2006 when they took Congress. The people got sick of it all and now Trump is in charge. And this current economy is Trump’s doing ... not Obama’s.

Well, bobo-the-lawless (a.k.a. barry soetoro, or just bobo for short) is acutally correct. bobo, and his ilk, are the cause. Trump is a symptom of American’s getting fed up with corrupt political types like bobo, hilda-beast, slick-willy, etc. American’s voted, and opted for a non-politician for once. Now, Trump is crude, and I would likely not want to hang out with him socially, BUT he is certainly getting things done that should have been done long ago. So, yeah, bobo, you and others are the cause; and Trump is the symptom (or remedy in some circles). Beyond those commeents, you are just an annoying gadfly making noise.
