I’m not sure, post Bill Clinton political fallout, any political party really wants to impeach. There was massive blowback when that happened for Clinton.
They just want to damage Trump, win midterms, try to set up 2020.

I haven’t read the article nor have I even been following the reporting of teh story much, so I’m really just talking out of my arse here, but my first intuition on this is that it’s probably another case of someone’s spouse being privy to inside information and exploiting that to use in half-truths and fictions for the sake of attacking the executive office and it’s operations.
