Israel is in an active war against Iran in Syria now.

Iran has a new base on the Iraq side of the Syrian border near al Qaim and are smuggling heavy weapons into Syria from there.

Now, there are reports that Iran is expanding that base, digging underground to store missiles and make that location a future missile launch facility.

I was in al Qaim many years ago to visit the 3rd Marine Air Wing and it is seriously hardened.

When we went after ISIS, we should have reoccupied al Qaim. We could have controlled the entire theater from Mosul to ar Ramadi to Deir Ezzor.

Anyway, that’s likely where the IDF is heading next. Direct attack on Iran is very unlikely.
