Well I was also impressed as much with his delivery as what he ‘schooled’ them all with. Never heard of the guy until today frankly.
The first two I was referring to were SENATORS Harris (CA) & Booker (NJ) then Bloomenthal(CT)...there also was a lot of noise out of the ‘peanut gallery’ and guess it wouldn’t be all that hard to prove it was staged BUT it would never ‘stick’ that esteemed members of Congress would stoop to such a level.
HARRIS interrupted before the chair had a chance to ‘introduce’ the subject matter...and the Libs kept interrupting with a ‘staged’ regularity.
Should have arrested them ALL...Then held the vote.
Sasse may not be a fan of Trump, and he may not be popular here on FR, but I will give him his due on this speech.
His remarks were absolutely terrific, and exactly spot on.
He should have gotten a standing ovation.
There was a reference to the spectators being recruited to protest. and, if supported by money or otherwise, I would think it a crime.

I think there's a few in DC who are waiting to see how the midterms play out. November will see either the complete destruction of the GOP's #nevertrump movement or the resurgence of it.

He was bashing the whole system as is and it’s failure to do it’s job as written in the constitution. especially the responsibilities of the legislative branch including himself. What he presented was not aimed at the current executive branch, but was a factual history lesson in how the whole system, all three branches, has been an ongoing problem starting in the 30’s and getting much worse in the 60’s because the legislative branch, which he himself is part of, has been too lazy to do their jobs.
He is absolutely right and spot on. When they punt the ball to another agency who has no checks or balances or accountability to the people, the people have been bypassed and are not being represented as they should be per the constitution as written and intended. And he is right, the executive branch and the judicial branches do not make the laws, the legislative branch does and they are shirking their duties.
Good history lesson about constitutional duties. And had they done their jobs when Obama was in office, we would not have the problems we have now. And as we know Obama was the worst offender yet in trying to rule by executive order and Supreme Court influence because the legislative branch dropped the ball allowing him and his executive branch to intercept and run with it.

The legislative branch has “self neutered themselves” just like he stated in this. This was one of the best speeches about self accountability as law makers I have seen in many years now. Spot on, no matter who the characters happen to be in the past, present, and the future...

Agit-prop much? I listened to the whole clip, and Sasse did no such thing. I know about Sasse's constant neverTrump diatribes, but this was not one of them. On this day, at this time and place, he did a good thing. That Freepers seem compelled to continue to "mangle" the truth just like the Left is truly disheartening.
He’s very smart. Just ask him and he will tell you. Or he will tell you without being asked. He only wants to make sure that you know he’s very smart. I called his office after I heard him going on about how bad Presided Trump’s tariff strategy is. I reminded the staffer that Ben Sasse didn’t make billions of dollars in the shark-infested waters of NYC. I also told her that while I was sure that Ben Sasse was very smart (see above) he wasn’t as smart as he thought he was and that President Trump certainly wasn’t as dumb as the Senator thought he was. I also told her that compared to the President Ben Sasse is a pup.

Exactly and why it was a great listen....worthy of saving which I have done. He believed what he stated easily evidenced in how little he resorted to his notes.
So glad I took the the time to listen...and more than twice...it was that good!
Yep... Absolutely. It was a great historical reminder to congress where their constitutional duties actually lay as designed by the founders and that as a whole they are failing to do these duties.
