The reason they did this was that it provides millions in free publicity. If you were an avid nike user, you won’t change. They are going for the moron audience, people who will buy anything if they see it on the telly with a good looking athlete wearing them. Since their base audience won’t change, they will reel in some extras at no cost. Lost me as a customer though, forever.

I'll betcha Nike alienates more potential customers than gains new customers.

Watch. COLLOSSAL error in judgment by Nike and it will hurt them in their nylon-encrusted pocketbook.
