Sen. John McCain's passing has left his Senate seat vacant and waiting to be filled by Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, a Republican. If she's interested in filling that seat, Meghan McCain would deserve immediate support from conservatives.
To be clear, Meghan McCain might not want to be a U.S. senator. And that's fine, no one should ever face pressure to serve in public office unless in the situation of a national emergency. But if McCain is open to replacing her father until a special election can be held in 2020, she would make a great conservative successor to her irreplaceable predecessor.
First off, McCain is a person of high integrity. The best evidence for this is rendered by McCain's television appearances on ABC's "The View." Surrounded by liberals with whom she fundamentally disagrees, McCain balances passionate argument and respect. In our era of partisan rancor, the need for senators who can get along even as they disagree has never been greater. John McCain was one example of that high character and his daughter would be another.
Second, McCain is a conservative of strong values. Whether pushing back against socialism, or politely interrogating guests, or arguing for social mobility and a strong national defense, McCain's appearances on "The View" show that she is well-versed on the issues and well-placed to advance conservative interests. This bears close consideration in light of the fact that Tuesday's Republican primary for Arizona's second Senate seat is being contested by one Republican, one ( perhaps senile) racist, and one extreme moron. Compared to the latter two, McCain would set a far higher standard as a conservative representative. Arizona deserves her service.

The term “conservative” has been partially hijacked to mean centrist fellow traveller, but surely we can retain a copyright on a term that actually means something like “defender of traditional values.” This new type of conservative is just a Democrat who might be mildly in favor of lower taxes as a vague indication of an eroded conservative mind-set, but also hawkish to the point of being worse warmongers than most leftists.
We know such persons as RINOs or CINOs. Canada has been blessed with plenty of them too, in fact most of our in-name-only Conservative Party is now about as Romneyish as the RINO part of the GOP.
Enough is enough, the voters need to be informed and educated that they are not getting what is being advertised from these so-called conservatives, if they really want conservatives, they should grill the candidates until they either taste good or reveal their true colors.
Trump could help by starting a separate political entity, just call it whatever but indicate to the GOP that endorsement of their candidates will take place on a case by case basis and where necessary, an alternative (Trump-backed) candidate will be offered. That should smarten up the party that does not yet seem to care about its principles.
I’d be willing to wager he will appoint the former AZ Senator Kyl who’s also shepherding Judge Kavanaugh around DC.

Really? First she is a home wrecker who knew mcain was married when she met him.....and the ‘value of that is?
And lets not forget she stole drugs from a charity she directed and was a drug addict while mothering four young children. McCain used her status as a charity director and senator’s wife to cajole the drugs she wanted.....this was violating a position of trust by stealing from a charitable organization, using its money and medical expertise to fuel her drug use.... The investigation resulted in no charges or prison time...anyone else would have been arrested and put in jail.....Futher in most states, family services will remove children from a woman who is known to be an active drug addict, and she would certainly not be allowed to adopt a child while addicted...all of which she did.
She also supports same-sex marriage and gay adoption.

I don’t want to see Meg in the Senate but it’s better than the Manchurian despoiler. I was hoping for help getting rid of these troublesome Marxists.
How come turn coat Democrats are never touted as good senators and justices? Oh wait there are none, just always seems to be a couple turncoat Republicans that always seem to sneak their way in. McCain shoulda been buried next to Arlen Spector.
Meghan McCain would be a political liability to Arizona. She would make sure the success of the Trump movement would destroyed and her vendetta against President Trump would be magnified through her power in the Senate.
