McCain: Brought people together, brought respect
Unmitigated Bullshit!
Maybe this was an SNL skit?
I think he spent his life trying to undo the fact that a tape of him “confessing” was played on the loudspeakers at the Hanoi Hilton and his unending shame and fear of his father’s opinion.
So what did he do? Did he help those he was positioned to help the most because of their shared experiences? No, he tried to hide their existence. He denied them help he was in a position to see was provided. And he tried to make himself appear to be a great man to offset his internal shame.
I think it’s understandable and forgivable that he broke under torture - but his actions when he came back are not forgivable. He was a crooked bitter old man who couldn’t overcome his shame and made others pay for this.
Goodby McNasty. President Trump is doing way more for veterans than you ever did.
