As I recall old western movies, the southeast part of the US was always full of ghost towns, usually because the gold rush did not pan out or the railroad went someplace else. Since this town seems to be a Hillary support place, it's not like the one restaurant was an exception; they just got the opportunity to go first.

When the entire town is abandoned, maybe people would start to realize that actions have consequences. Right now, this is just a blip.
