I am sorry you did not understand my posting. I was not parsing words, rather than facing the problem which needs to be rooted out of the church. I did not defend the church’s behavior at all.
My post clearly states that the problem was not ‘pedophilia” but homosexuals in the clergy, and up in senior positions in the church. If the news media continues to use the incorrect term, then it is a deliberate decision to avoid using the term Homosexuals. The news media are leftists, and homosexuals are a favored group to be defended. The news medial also do not like Christians of any denomination. They are enemies of Jesus Christ.
Their continued avoidance of the true nature of the problem by using the word pedophilia [which is universally detested], rather than the actual reality of the homosexual cabal within the RC clergy is calculated. If the news media uses the correct term, they would be attacking one of their favorite groups - of voters!!!!So they use ‘pedophilia’ as it raises more ire against a Christian church! Also, the refusal to state publicly the true nature of the problem will give an excuse to avoid cleaning the house of that sinful behavior.
Do NOT mistake my meaning. Both pedophilia [against little children under age 12] and sexual abuse against minor males [only a few were against females] or young seminarians who have no power against clerical superiors IS A CRIME AND AN ABOMINATION.
As for two adult priests deciding to have gay sex - it is a sin against God Almighty as clearly defined in the Bible. Therefore it is also a scandal But two adults are not committing a crime, only a very sinful scandal.
And, YES, it needs to be investigated and all the guilty clergy rooted out and replaced with godly men.
