Not known for probity (paging Mr. Keating) or integrity (cheated on and dumped his first wife for younger, less injured, much RICHER woman). No known acts of generosity or kindness. Impulsive, reckless, and ineffective. How did he get elected the first time and survive scandals? Hero myth.
Politically, McCain a practitioner of the Kim Jong Il method (the troublemaker gets the grease). Let others create stability, then move in as a “maverick” and leverage your contrariness so everyone bargains for your support or quiet.
