I shoulda gone back in the day. But ... if I could have one fast food memory back from MI, it would be heading down to the A&W root bear in the parents’ Chevy Biscayne (Plum), pulling up to the order stand, and getting chili dogs & frosty cold root beer delivered on a tray hanging from Dad’s window.

A&W was still a big deal in Michigan when I lived there in the late 80’s.
As were lots of local Greek diner joints that specialized in chili dogs. The locals called these joints “Coney Islands” for some inexplicable reason as we were more than 700 miles from Coney Island.
