Makes sense to me, that the McCain family would reject Palin for this event. Tough call though, which way (expressly request she stay away, or just roll with whatever) results in a more positive outcome, being attention to the life of McCain.

It makes sense that the family wants to erase the Palin period from McCain's history. The family despises Palin and those who stand by her.

But the express disinviation draws attention to the ideological split, and may overtake the narrative that the McCain family prefers to advance at this moment.

Wouldn’t it be neat if she could be appointed to fill McCains seat? Sold her Az. property but you never know.
