Invitation funerals are pretty common among the elite. And former Presidents start the process of planning as they leave office.
None of this is unusual.
(The proceeds, I meannot those invited or not.)

That is a group of some 80 Vietnamese that was flown in from California for the viewing. I don't know what the t-shirt represents. Something to do with them I'd guess.

Thanks for the link.
From the article....
The group wore specially made yellow T-shirts that said, “We salute our hero Senator John McCain.”
Derrick Nguyen said a radio station in the Little Saigon community of Orange County announced it would provide bus transportation to the ceremony Wednesday. Nguyen, an attorney and a community organizer, said more than 100 people signed up but several stayed back because of the heat and timing.

I've tried to be somewhat restrained and civil in my remarks about McCain, (even on Twitter) but this extremely rude slight is unforgivable, yet truly expressive of the real McCain.
John McCain wasn't complicated. He liked to be in charge. He demanded loyalty. He was bossy, ambitious, and conniving, in that he made the greatest use of his time in captivity than any of the other POW's.
Think back to Cmdr. Jeremiah Denton who bravely blinked "T-O-R-T-U-R-E" in Morse code during a TV interview in 1966. Denton was held captive for over 8 years and was the first off the plane in 1973. Promoted to Rear Admiral upon his release, Adm. Denton, a native of Alabama, became the states first Republican to win election to the US Senate since Reconstruction in 1980. (Denton lost his reelection bid to Democrat Richard Shelby)
McCain won his first election in 1982 to the House, but he had already set his sights on the US Senate.
As for the wealth issue, his mother, Roberta Wright McCain was the daughter of an oil baron and very wealthy on her own. My husband recalled "luncheon" at Mrs. McCain's, and a very friendly, gracious and proper Mrs. McCain, who smiled and laughed with ease.
I think when Donald Trump remarked that he liked his heroes to be non-captured, that it really hit McCain because McCain had used his captivity to catapult his political career.
I also think that McCain has been jealous of Trump ever since Trump won the presidency. McCain tried twice and failed. McCain viewed Trump as a lesser man. A draft dodger, despite Trump's reverence for our military, despite Trump's upbringing and attendance at the military school. McCain had no business judging Trump's patriotism, but he did.
I had to gag over this past weekend when the Fox News scroll read " McCain's greatest life lesson ... "learning to forgive.." WHAT?
McCain's vindictiveness went to the grave with him full throttle!
His thumb down vote on the Healthcare in the US Senate was NOTHING BUT vindictive!
His tweets were nothing but hateful and vindictive. His last statement was vindictive!
He purposefully made known he didn't want President Trump at his funeral, (all three funerals) so that history books would reflect this fact! That is vindictive!
But, alas! President Trump and Sarah Palin will have the last word. Both can write their own autobiographies!
He was jealous of Sarah Palin. Jealous of talk radio. Jealous of the Tea Party. Jealous of anyone, everyone and "entities" more loved than him. Just look at his enemy list.

lol. You are SOO right on! I forgot. Obama will make whatever he says about the great I—Obama. Love it. At least Sarah would have taken the time to be kind to the man and honoring. John gets all the nastiness her deserves.

For what it’s worth, Old Pro, it took me a second, but I quickly realized you were being humorous in your post. Some people around here really do not have a sense of humor or are too lazy to look beyond their immediate impulse to criticize.

I find it VERY interesting that they sat McCains daughter, Sidney - from McCains first marriage, and their (Cindy and McCains) adopted daughter, Bridgette, on the row behind Cindys Kids.
That just doesnt seem right. Make room for ALL of his kids, on the FRONT row.

Without the strategically arranged and timed financial meltdown, because of Sarah, McCain would have won.
