As much as I would like this to be true, I am not so certain.

IANAL, but my understanding is that impeachment is a purely political process and he can be impeached just because he ate a roast beef sandwich last week.

Whoever has the Senate majority will make up the rules as they go along.

I would think Levins comment is based on the assumption that there is at least 1/3 of the Senate that will use jurisprudence because the actual Judicial branch will not be involved, the Senate then becomes the court.

Well yes, the Supreme court could theoretically even rule that genocide is legal, but it is as unlikely as that a President would be removed from office (Impeached) for minor offenses before taking office.

the house merely bringing articles of impeachment before the senate is not full impeachement as much as each party would like to believe in their grandiose "political victory"[/my pretentious opinion]
