On Sunday night, FBI and ATF agents raided a home in the upscale Federal Hill neighborhood of South Baltimore. It is believed to be the home of Katz's parents, where the shooter himself also lived...As a child, Katz had 'significant health problems', according to court records in his parents' divorce. At the time of the 2014 court filing, the shooter's father worked for NASA, and his mother worked for the US Food and Drug Administration.

Gang-related? Can’t wait to hear about how gangs and video gamers have formed unholy alliances.

Earlier I read speculation that the shooting was gang related.

These days, the Daily Mail is more real than CNN. Damning with faint praise...

“Looks pretty wacko. Wonder if he was drugged up too.”

That isn’t too likely. What is more likely, is that the game - whatever one it was - was the whole of this offender’s life. His entire sense of self and self worth tied up in the game. Then he loses in a competition. Think of the movie ‘Falling Down’ crossed with Beavis and Butthead.
I am an avid gamer, and have been for almost fifty years. It is a pastime for me, not the core of my existence. That used to be the rule among gamers, but now there are a lot of people for whom it is the sum of their existence, and any setback, criticism, or even an opinion which does not track with theirs will send them into a frothing, raging fit. I’m guessing this offender was one of those.

Thank you for positing both/and as a possibility. So often in situations like this, either/or is put forth when both/and is much more likely, as here.

Not doubting you. These days, I’m willing to entertain the plausibility of the most absurd relationships.

Had this talk with someone yesterday. Men without a father have a harder time knowing how to act like a man.

The National Enquirer is more real than CNN. Actually, the Enquirer has broken a lot of stories before the Mainstream Media did.

The parents divorce case is on the internet. I found it by doing a Google search. I think the Daily Mail has a room full of full time Googlers.

The UK Daily Mail had accurate info on the Las Vegas mass shooting way ahead of the US media, who were still reporting only ‘two deaths’ for hours afterward (until the LV sheriff’s press conference set them straight).
