After feeling some 'discomfort', he went to a hospital in New Brunswick, then to Presque Isle and finally EMMC.

LePage first went to a New Brunswick hospital, then was transferred by ambulance to a facility in Presque Isle in good spirits and eventually to EMMC.
His wife, Ann, accompanied him.
He went across the border to a hospital in New Brunswick, Canada first?
