McCain leaves a legacy of standing up for his beliefs Holly BaileyNational Correspondent,Yahoo NewsAugust 26, 2018 Scroll back up to restore default view. At first, John McCain couldnt hear what some of his supporters were yelling. The roar of the crowd often made it too loud to hear anything, and he was already hard of hearing in his left ear, a condition that dated to his days as a Navy pilot and no doubt worsened because of the beatings he suffered during his 5½ years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.
But in the fall of 2008, during his second bid for the presidency, the Arizona senator could tell that the crowds at his town halls were getting more rowdy something he normally didnt mind. The town hall was McCains preferred way to campaign; it was the format he felt allowed him to truly connect with voters, where people could see who he was, for better or worse. For months, McCains aides had been trying to talk him into holding more traditional events, such as scripted speeches, where he could avoid gaffes that could be seized upon by his opponents. But the candidate stubbornly refused.

This is basically a propaganda piece by Yahoo news.
lol the commie media are such hypocrites and phonies..they called McCain every freakin name in the book 10 yrs ago now they pretend to mourn him cause he hates Trump such total BS
The same liberal media that called McCain mentally unstable and quick tempered she he ran against their Messiah. They only gush about McCain because he was against Trump and they know it and so does the sane public at least.
What beliefs were those? The beliefs he told potential voters ...or the beliefs he had in D.C.?
Yes. We are being bombarded with propaganda tonight. IF McCain was half the man the media is claiming this day he’d have beaten that unknown Communist Obama overwhelmingly in 2008.
In death McCain is a useful tool for the Left.
Maverick = #1 rated RINO in the country.
Who will be designated the new “maverick” after the passing of McCain?
He stopped the repeal of Obamacare.
During the next week the country will be subjected to an Orwellian experience. There will be an exercise in the “mutability of the past”. John McCain will be the subject of adulation. Nothing of his true past will be mentioned. Celebrating an idealized McCain serves the hate Trump narrative and will be exploited for all it is worth by the propagandist media.
AMEN. CNN is going overboard in their coverage and their praise for the man. If he wasn’t an adversary of Trump he wouldn’t of gotten three minutes. ABC is doing a special 20/20 edition on him. What the hell did this man do in the Senate besides trying to get us into every armed conflict around the world? The only two accomplishments, if you want to call them that, would be his part in the Keating Five scandal, and his hatred for Trump.
No.
If he REALLY wanted to stand up for his beliefs, he would have joined the Democrat party.
He felt he could do more damage to the opposition, the Republican party, from within instead.
Thats what a rat does, not a principled man.
John McCain had only around a 36% rate of standing up for conservative legislation, meaning he stood up to 64% anti-freedom legislation with the commie/dems. I hope he gets just judgement. But, I don’t think that will be good.
Sympathies to his family and friends.

Linda is heard in the background....”Yoo-Hoo! Over here!! I am READY to continue the McCain Legacy. Senator Graham, reporting for duty!.”
One hundred percent correct! The fake respect and adulation the media will bestow on McCain will be sickening.
Yahoo in the byline is ‘barf alert’ all on its own.
What are the odds that the Author of this piece Voted for McCain in 2008?
My guess is something akin to winning the Powerball Lottery.
Didn’t he hand the Steele dossier over to the FBI? He was involved with this setup somehow.
