Trump@War - Here's a first look at the trailer for a forthcoming film, "Trump @ War," (Bannon)

A linguist was interviewed about 6 months ago who stated that the English language will be forever changed in the coming years by the twitter and text culture and I would have to agree.

Oh my gosh. Predictions by 'experts' always come true. /s

I more or less conceded that the language is evolving in my previous post, which should have ended that phase of the discussion. Perhaps I didn't state it clearly enough.

Our contentious banter aside, the only point I'm making, is that some changes to the language are elevating, and some are not. Casting aside the invaluable richness of our vocabulary for fadish, offhand slang, is an obvious degrade, which should be resisted.

It's my opinion that those on the left are socially conditioned to accept destructive and degrading changes to our culture.

Those changes come in all forms, one of which, is the easy relaxation of the general rules of the English language, and a heightened tolerance for poor grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence construction.

I (again) concede the point that the phenomenon of the internet has introduced a host of new terms into the language. That, in itself, is not a bad thing, and is in keeping with the the historic evolution of our grand mother tongue, which is by far, the most descriptive and rich language in the world.

As a person of the conservative bent, it's my desire to see the pre-eminence of the English language preserved. I can't help but assume that we agree on that.

I agree 100%. You write very well and it was a pleasure to read your post! Perhaps I am a bit hasty in not looking at things more closely and understanding that not all changes in our language is a welcome development.

At the root level, it appears that you and I are in agreement about the immense value of our language, and that it should be preserved.
