Former U.S. intelligence officials like John Brennan garner lucrative employment in the private sector based on their ability to maintain their government security clearances. Peter Schweizer and Seamus Bruner from the Government Accountability Institute explain this in an op-ed in the New York Post, detailing the revelations in Bruners new book, Compromised: How Money and Politics Drive FBI Corruption.
Schweizer and Bruner write:
Former CIA Director John Brennans temper tantrum over the revocation of his security clearance has inadvertently pointed a spotlight at one of the Swamps favorite get-rich-quick tricks: the national intelligence contractor hustle.
On Aug. 20, President Trump escalated his attack on Brennan. Everybody wants to keep their Security Clearance, its worth great prestige and big dollars, even board seats, and that is why certain people are coming forward to protect Brennan, Trump said.

Trump. right.again.
Just like when he said murderers and rapists come over the border illegally from Mexico and the media and Dems had a meltdown....fast forward to just another Iowa girl getting murdered by an illegal Mexican.
I read an article like this about a week ago, I thought it said that just having the clearance meant compensation but maybe it’s this that they can earn more in the private sector. Could be both. I don’t know but they definitely benefit from it.
Does Bradley Manning still have his?
As so many here have said, when your employment ends with ANYONE,all access to anything other than earnded benefits ends too.
Let’em reapply if they feel they are so indispensable and give the reason.
A CNN/MSNBC paid talking head aint one.
He never should have gotten one!
When I started being genderbender was disqualifying !
I remember when that all changed & what senior official changed it.
It is to my shame that he and I share an MOS.
I think that Mr. Trump’s point is valid, John Brennan’s market value is enhanced by the fact that he still held a clearance. But, using the numbers is arguing apples and oranges. In the Defense Industry, a particular job’s salary is affected by the clearance requirement, the higher or more unusual the set of clearance requirements, the higher the salary for the same set of other job requirements. It’s a function of supply and demand and also a function of the time required to get a high level clearance for someone who does not already hold it. When the government awards a contract, they want key persons on the job immediately and especially those who require a high clearance.
Brennan and the like are in a completely different category. They are hired because what they know and who they know and their access to decision makers. The lack of a clearance might be a hindrance, but more likely their reputation or in what circles they belong are more important.
Truly disgusting and insane. America’s secrets go right to her enemies. I do weep for our country.
Does Bradley Manning still have his?
I believe he was a donor.

Then-State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman gave the Clinton Foundation a pass on identifying foreign donors in its charitable filings making it impossible to know if it got any special favors while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state, according to a Scripps News report.
Scripps News found that the foundation and its subsidiary, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, took in $225 million in government donations between 2010 and 2014. New Yorks charity law clearly states: Organizations that received a contribution or grant from a government agency during the reporting period shall include the name of each agency from which contributions were received and the amount of each contribution.
But both the foundation and the CHAI failed to do that, and Schneiderman, a member of Clintons leadership council in New York and a fierce critic of Donald Trump, did nothing about it. Schneiderman's NYAG's office filed about 100 lawsuits against Trump, the man he begged campaign donations from.
Other charities complied, including the George W. Bush foundation, which reported receiving $5 million from Saudi Arabia and $500,000 from Kuwait.
On its website, the Clinton Foundation reveals its foreign donors, but using only broad ranges, such as $5 million to $10 million, without any time frames. The IRS doesnt require such disclosures.

Hillary and smirking Hillary worshipper, Eric Schneiderman (right).
Schneiderman was recently ousted from office after women came forward saying he spat at, slapped, and choked women he was intimate with.
What ever happened to “a need to know”?
I had a security clearance when I worked in aero-space but it did not allow me to have access unless there was a need to know.

I suspect that much of the sturm and drang about Brennan's security clearance is that it hurts his standing in his social circles,i.e. a high level clearance indicates that you are part of the club. It also reduces his access to important information, as it gives anyone having second thoughts about leaking to Brennan an obvious excuse to stop, and makes prosecuting anyone still keeping him in the loop much easier.
One of the things that I learned in my limited exposure to people at John Brennan’s level is that most of them regularly ignored security precautions. The politicians were the worst, followed by the professional staffers outside of the intel community, but the intel community played pretty loose with classified information.
Brennan: “No, we’re not making big buck by abusing our clearances, but it will cause me great financial harm now that my clearance has been removed...”
